Ford Ranger Lowering Kit
If lift kits are designed to increase the space between a vehicle's suspension
and its frame, or between its body and its frame, and it is made possible to fit
larger wheels and tires under the vehicle for increased ground clearance and suspension
travel, a lowering kit functions the other way around. Lowering kits are also
called suspension kits. They decrease the distance between a vehicle's body and
the ground to improve handling. These are also installed for restyling reasons.
A lowering kit might include lowering coil springs, lowering leaf springs, de-arched
leaf springs, leaf spring shackles and hangers, a flip kit, a C-notch kit, dropped
spindles or dropped control arms.
